On the surface everything stayed the same. Underneath, everything is new.
A new design was not part of the job. But the website was slow, had a security gap and told Google neither its services nor its location. We took it over, renewed it in 11 days and have looked after it ever since.

Where the website stood.
Scherlich lays XXL large-format tiles and finishes walls and floors with trowel techniques and designer surfaces. A new design was not part of the job. Underneath the surface, little was right.
For 9 seconds, prospects saw a half-finished page. The host had been warning about a security gap since June. 17 plugins were outdated, and on Google the homepage was titled only “Home - Scherlich-Design”. On top of that there were 31 empty template pages and 5 pages without a place in the menu, all publicly reachable.

What we did.
- Checked the backup before every intervention and stored a complete copy in a second location
- Closed the security gap, removed insecure and unused plugins and scanned every file for malware
- Cut the loading time: pages are delivered ready-made, images come in modern formats, the video only loads on click
- Took 36 surplus pages offline (31 empty templates, 5 pages without a menu place, their content is kept) and gave all 6 pages a title and a description for Google
- Removed dead menu items and made the phone number tappable on mobile
- Kept the look as it was
